I have been reading the journals and scientific papers very closely, and combining that information with what I can find in the online newspapers and magazines published from around the world, Climate Change is accelerating faster than expected.

Warmer temperatures at the poles, in the oceans, and high altitudes have affected weather patterns more strongly than predicted. Worldwide extreme wildfires, exacerbated by climate change, are adding significant amounts of CO2 to the already unprecedented load being pumped into the atmosphere by the burning of fossil fuels to power our excessive needs.

Irresponsible TV and radio personalities are paid by the fossil fuel industry to downplay and deny the conclusions of 98% of climate scientists around the world. They encourage their brainwashed followers to increase their reckless energy wasting activities. The possibility of bringing these Hummer driving anti-environmentalists to their senses will likely not happen until they/we have gone past the point of no return.

Still, there are some things we can do that will make a difference. 

We can write, petition, phone elected officials, and demonstrate against greed and bad policies. 

We can stand in opposition to the insanity of letting multinational energy companies frack and take away the gas from our states to sell on the international market. 

We can block the XL pipeline that Canadian oil companies want to build across 2,000 miles of our heartland so they can ship tar sands oil to other countries. 

We can lease solar panels for our roofs and help eliminate coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power plants.

We can do the energy conservation actions that President Jimmy Carter proposed in 1977.

We can be living examples to our friends and neighbors. Just be happy, healthy, do energy saving things, and have lower utility bills. They will want the same money savings that you are getting. WARNING: Do not talk facts, reason, or logic with them. Say something simple like, “Solar saves us money”. (Don’t mention saving the planet)

Thank you for allowing me to share what I think is very important information. There are some wonderful discoveries in the world of science that I will address in the next blog post.

I will give you this teaser; New measurements and observations show that contrary to what we, (the academic and scientific community), thought the universe was doing, isn’t what it is doing. The latest discoveries show no end to the existence of our universe. We now know that it is accelerating and eternally expanding.
